Weekend Fun

I got to do so many fun things this weekend, I thought I would share.  I made the most delish chocolate cake EVER!  Seriously people you have got to try this recipe, you can find it HERE!

Made myself a custom ipad case.  Wahoo, I have been wanting one for a while.  I just decided to make a padded envelope. For this project I used cotton fabric on the outside, a layer of white felt and the a layer of turquoise velvet to line the inside.  Now my ipad is ready to be toted around in my bag!

I got to go see Annie with Child number 1 and one of her friends.  We love the theater but this was especially fun because some of our good friends were in it.  Excellent work Q's, we loved it!

Made a few more necklace's!  I m getting excited for the fall shows.

We got to feed the LDS missionaries dinner.  The kids were cute and excited to have them, Eli helped set the table and cut some flowers from the yard.

Got to go see The Help with my friend Amber.  Cried my eyes out and laughed my head off.  I am going to have to get that one when it come's out on DVD.  LOVED it!

Well, I should have posted the six loads of laundry I happened to get done, not to mention all the other house work that need's be be redone already.  I figured I would keep this post about all the extra fun stuff! Hope you all had a good week end.

Old School

I found a set of four little old school chairs back in July.  I finally just painted them.  My little kids are loving them.  I am loving that they are so sturdy and they don't tip over unless you are really trying. I just used some of my favorite colors of spray paint and they stenciled on numbers on each of the chairs. I used a primer spray paint first, then the color spray paint. I was kind of an idiot and didn't spray a sealer on them until I brought them inside and one of my kids scratched some of the paint off.  Then it was back outside for a coat of sealer!

My sweet friend Courtney found this desk for me.  I forgot to take a picture of what it looked like before I  painted it.  Again a couple of cans of spray paint and a bit of tape for the stripes helped me out with this project.  This desk is now in Jane's room.  She loves to draw and It is a nice place for her to escape from her crazy brothers.

Button, Button

So I have a thing for buttons, especially vintage ones.  I made up some new necklaces and embellished them with tons of fabulous buttons, new and old.  Here are some pics of all the button love.  If you are interested in one of the beauties I will have them (and a few others) at my next show.  If you just can't wait until the next show in October, give me a call.
